Sony Ericsson P1i
Year: 2007
Prototype level: Non-Final
Codename: Elena

Overview
The Sony Ericsson P1i was the company’s 2007 business-oriented smartphone and the successor to the P990i. Running Symbian OS with UIQ 3, it combined a touchscreen with Sony Ericsson’s unusual dual-function QWERTY keypad, 3G, Wi-Fi and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The P1i also represented a shift towards the more compact form factor that had been introduced with the M600i.
The specimen in this collection is a non-final version distinguished primarily by its overall design. Rather than closely following the final P1i appearance, the handset has a design that looks remarkably similar to the unreleased M610, codenamed Lizy. The white and burgundy color combination is another significant difference from the commercially released P1i.
