Sony Ericsson M610

Year: 2007
Prototype level: Cancelled
Codename: Lizy

Overview

The Sony Ericsson M610, codenamed Lizy, was an unreleased successor to the M600 developed in 2007. It retained the M600’s distinctive QWERTY keypad and Symbian/UIQ smartphone platform, while adding features such as Wi-Fi and FM radio. The prototype was also slightly redesigned, with a form factor closer to the P1, but notably remained without a camera.

Lizy progressed surprisingly far: it received FCC certification, was publicly photographed and even appeared as a prototype on eBay. Despite expectations that it might eventually be released as the M610i, Sony Ericsson ultimately cancelled the project, reportedly because it was too similar to the P1.
