Overview

The Ericsson S838 was an early development version of the A1018s, one of Ericsson’s first A-series phones. The A1018s, codenamed Beatrice, was introduced in 1999 as an affordable, straightforward GSM handset and became one of Ericsson’s more successful models of the period. Ericsson’s own material describes the A1018s as the first A-series phone, with interchangeable front panels and several color combinations.
